Responsibilities

Millennium Corporation is hiring a Release Train Engineer to work in  a Hybrid Capacity from anywhere in NCR. The candidate must have an active secret clearance.

 

This position will also serve as a Scrum Master, Product Owner or other roles as determined, providing flexibility to support team-level execution and product vision as needed. This role requires strong leadership, deep Agile expertise, and the ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on facilitation.

  • Facilitate ART events, including Program Increment (PI) Planning, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt workshops, and ART Syncs.
  • Ensure alignment between ART objectives and organizational strategy, collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize and deliver value.
  • Coach teams, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and stakeholders on Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) practices and principles.
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART, identifying and removing impediments to delivery.
  • Track and communicate ART progress, risks, and metrics to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging retrospectives and data-driven insights to enhance ART performance.
  • Coordinate with other RTEs, Solution Train Engineers, and portfolio leaders to align on dependencies and strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate team-level Agile ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives, etc.) when needed.
  • Coach teams on Agile principles, fostering self-organization, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Remove team-level impediments and shield the team from external distractions to maintain focus on sprint goals.
  • Support the adoption of Agile best practices, including backlog refinement, story writing, and estimation.
  • Define and prioritize the team backlog, ensuring alignment with the product vision and ART objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, write user stories, and define acceptance criteria.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring delivered features meet business needs and deliver value.
  • Participate in sprint reviews to validate increments and provide feedback to the team.
  • Experience with obtaining and analyzing metrics.
  • Experience with project management, agile, scrum, and/or lean principles.
  • Execute all efforts in a collaborative and Scaled Agile fashion while adhering to government mandated fixed due dates
  •  Attend and Participate in Periodic Large Scale Agile Planning events. 

 

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have an active Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 

  • 3+ years of experience in Agile environments, with at least 2 years as a Release Train Engineer or similar role in a SAFe framework. 

  • Required Certification: SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC). 

    Preferred Certification: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM). 

Business Development

Assist with Business Development activities as required to support Millennium's strategic business objectives, which may include but not limited to participation in technical interviews, creation of technical documentation, general proposal writing support and proposal color reviews.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at a time.
