Responsibilities

Millennium Corporation is hiring a Technical Writer & Knowledge Manager to work remote from home, with some occasional travel to Fort Belvoir, VA. Candidate must have an active Secret Clearance. 

  • Creates new documents such as HQDA Execution Orders, Memorandums, Executive Summary (EXSUM), Strategic Communications (STRATCOM), and Operational and Functional Requirements documents
  • Maintains and organizes document repositories with version control
  • Defines and communicates document repository standards for various document types
  • Coordinates with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately documented.
  • Proactively identifies issues with site collection, storage quotas, and search configuration.
  • Develops custom site functions, workflows, business processes, and management.
  • Creates site columns and content types to promote tagging and discoverability of content.
  • Create and manages subsites, lists, and libraries to define the taxonomy and structure of data stored within the site collection.
  • Completes application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities.
  • Identify, promote, implement, and support SharePoint best practices.

Qualifications

  • Must have an active Secret Clearance
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college is preferred, but not required if you have more than 5 years of relevant experience
  • At least 5 years of experience writing DoD technical documents
  • At least 2 years of experience with SharePoint
  • Must have prior experience writing DoD/Army orders, memorandums, whitepapers, and IAW AR25-50
  • Must have prior experience with staffing processes and procedures for DoD/Army documents for signature.
  • Must have experience accessing Task Management Tracker (TMT) DoD tracking tool and GEARS (NETCOM staffing tool)
  • Some experience managing a cloud-based document repository and submitting documents to the Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS)

Business Development

Assist with Business Development activities as required to support Millennium's strategic business objectives, which may include but not limited to participation in technical interviews, creation of technical documentation, general proposal writing support and proposal color reviews.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at a time.

Travel Requirements

Up to 10% travel required
