Responsibilities

OVERALL DESCRIPTION:

Millennium Corporation is looking to hire a Computer Support Specialist to work on-site in Honolulu, Hawaii. Candidates MUST hold an active secret clearance to qualify for consideration.

This position will support the US Army Corps of Engineers RITS Program. Selected CSS will:

  • Provide second-tier support to end-users for PC, server, mainframe applications, and hardware
  • Handle problems that the first-tier help desk support is unable to resolve.
  • May interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problem.
  • Simulate or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties.
  • Recommend systems modifications to reduce user problems.
  • Maintain currency and high level of technical skill in field of expertise.

 

The Senior Computer User Support Specialist will perform technical, operational, and training support to users of personal computers either by telephone, or on-site for PC desktop hardware and software packages. Job duties are as follows:

  • Installation and testing of personal computers, printers, and other peripherals
  • Configuration of operating systems
  • Load shrink-wrap programs and other application software programs.
  • Troubleshooting of printers, computers, and peripheral incident
  • Perform hardware and software diagnostics
  • Coordination of needed repairs
  • Resolution of computer system problems, including coordination between users and components of a local are network
  • Participation of the evaluation of system and software configuration

Qualifications

  • Must be local to Honolulu and comfortable working primarily on site
  • AA/AS degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education

  •  6+ years of professional, applicable experience

  • Current DoD 8570 IA Baseline Certification, IAT Level I or Level II (examples: Security, A+ CE, Network+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security certifications)

  • Must have valid driver's license

  •  Normal work hours are Monday through Friday; 8 hour shift between 6AM and 6PM local time. After hours support may be required on an infrequent basis. 

  • Minimum of an Interim Secret Clearance required prior to start

  • Experience supporting Windows 10, and MS Office 2013

  • Experience using Remedy or a similar ticketing system.

  • Strong analytical and follow through skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.

  • Ability to coordinate and get cooperation from multiple areas within IT to accomplish assignments.

  • Ability to work well independently on defined tasks.

  • Ability to work well as part of a team.

Business Development

Assist with Business Development activities as required to support Millennium's strategic business objectives, which may include but not limited to participation in technical interviews, creation of technical documentation, general proposal writing support and proposal color reviews.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at a time.
