Responsibilities

Millennium Corporation is hiring an Sr Operations & Planning Team Lead in Fort Belvoir, VA. An active US government security clearance is required.

 

  • Report directly to the Program Manager (PM) and Deputy Program Manager (DPM)
  • Plan, develop, implement, and oversee operational policies and procedures for the customer
  • Continually assesses the impact of policy directives received from the Department of the Army and military authorities and emphasizes the importance of directives for the organization
  • Conducts special studies and develops reports on a very broad range of subjects upon request
  • Regularly exercises independent judgment and leads subordinate staff
  • Ensures that operational guidelines reflect efficient use of time and resources for the organization
  • Reviews new operational policies and determines the potential impact on the organization
  • Provides recommendations to the PM and DPM on the implementation of said policies
  • Attends briefings when requested by senior leadership and monitors any developments or decisions that are made
  • Advises senior leadership on the status of various issues involving required administrative actions and recommends ways to resolve diverse and complex problems within and outside PEO Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, and Sensors (IEW&S).
  • Develops administrative policies and/or directives for staff organizations
  • Recommends major revisions to existing operational policies, and coordinates with other agencies.
  • Provides a critical high-level review of programs, staff studies, regulations, and investigative reports
  • Recommends mediation strategies to senior leadership on controversial issues for internal and external sources involving the development or implementation of administrative policy
  • Reviews, and executes actions pertinent to the strategic planning for the near and long-term project office schedule in achieving the PM's missions and objectives.
  • Plans for recurring and unique events, meetings, and conferences to promote and facilitate the execution of programs and functions.
  • Organizes problem-solving sessions with the Operations teams and performs numerous staff actions necessary for the successful accomplishment of the mission.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least an active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree and a minimum of 20 years of relevant work experience
  • Project Management Professional certification or Program Management Level III from Defense Acquisition University
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills

Desired Experience:

  • Previous work experience at the Pentagon on OSD or Army Staff (i.e., DASC, G3/5/7, G8 Force Development (FD), ASA (ALT) Staff)
  • Project Management experience at the PEO/PM (O6 or O5 Level)
  • Battalion or Brigade level S3 Operations Officer or Command Sergeant Major (CSM)
  • Expert Knowledge of TMT and GEARS staffing applications

Business Development

  • Assist with Business Development activities as required to support Millennium's strategic business objectives, which may include but not limited to participation in technical interviews, creation of technical documentation, general proposal writing support and proposal color reviews.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at a time.

Travel Requirements

  • 25% travel
