Overview

Millennium Corporation is hiring a Software Development Lead in Dayton, OH. Candidate must have an active Secret Clearance. 

Responsibilities

The Software Development Lead will: 

  • Acts as the overall technical lead of the program reporting directly to the program manager.
  • Serves as the primary interface and point of contact with Government program authorities and representatives on technical issues.
  • Oversees software team personnel program/project operations
  • Monitors and reports on progress to the PM on software project release and program increments.
  • Guides the teams through PI planning.
  • Resolves impediments at the program level related to technical issues.
  • Meeting and assisting with schedule/product decisions w/ the government client.
  • Supports the Product Owner for key audits, briefings, and reporting.
  • Coordinates efforts with the Technical Lead and Design Lead in leading a large team consisting of around 40 FTEs including 3 agile software teams.
  • Responsible for the software schedules and releases.
  • Works with the Lead Software Architect on software design decisions.
  • Responsible for software processes, policies, and procedures for software team execution
  • Acts as the Agile champion/coach for the team.

Qualifications

Must Haves: 

  • Active Secret clearance
  • Bachelor and/or master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or other Information Technology disciplines.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in software engineer, DevSecOps, and/or agile oriented programming.
  • Experience with software development methodologies and processes.
  • Experience with Scrum methodology 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large and diverse teams and the ability to effectively provide guidance, direction, and supervision in all areas of contracted effort such as project management, software engineering, and systems engineering.
  • Experience with MS Project and Office Suite.
  • Experience architecting and aiding in software and systems.
  • Experience with creating and championing software processes 

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience working in SAFe® environments.
  • Experience in Air Force Logistical Systems Sustainment and Modernization.
  • Experience with Agile SDLC tools (i.e., JIRA, Confluence)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP®) certified
  • SAFe® certified
  • DevSecOps support and experience.

Business Development

  • Assist with Business Development activities as required to support Millennium's strategic business objectives, which may include but not limited to participation in technical interviews, creation of technical documentation, general proposal writing support and proposal color reviews.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at a time.
